THE COMMERCE DEPARTMENT URGES YOU TO EXHIBIT AT ASIA’S PREMIER SAFETY AND SECURITY SHOW!

United States Department of Commerce
International Trade Administration, Washington, D.C. 20230

Safety and Security Asia 2009 offers major sales opportunities to profit from Asia’s security concerns.

Safety and Security Asia 2009 – 10th International Safety & Security Technology & Equipment Exhibition and Conference, to be held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore, September 30-October 2, 2009, offers U.S. firms outstanding potential for export sales.  The product theme of this biennial event covers all safety aspects in Airports, Commercial Buildings, Key Infrastructures and Facilities, Ports, and Transportation Terminals.  The show is regarded as the most international safety and security technology and equipment show in the Asia-Pacific region.  The 2009 event will again be co-located with two concurrent shows:  Homeland Security Asia 2009 (3rd edition) and Fire and Rescue Asia 2009 (8th edition).  Further information can be found on the show Website, www.safetysecurityasia.com.sg

The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted Trade Fair Certification to Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte, Ltd, to organize an official U.S. Pavilion at Safety and Security Asia 2009 and provide U.S. firms with prime exhibition space.  Exhibitors can be part of our U.S. group and take advantage of the increased visibility and impact of this unified, color-coordinated national presence!  They will receive a fully equipped, turnkey booth and a full package of support services, including assistance both before and after the show.

Companies participating in the U.S. Pavilion are provided with an excellent venue to establish or expand overseas distribution, generate sales leads, identify licensing and joint venture partners, find new customers, meet with existing clients, introduce new products, assess the needs of the Southeast Asia market, and evaluate competitors.  U.S. exhibitors will receive on-site support from the U.S. Commercial Service staff of the U.S. Embassy in Singapore.

Singapore’s security equipment market looks set to continue to outperform the general economy. Despite an overall gloomy economic forecast, the trade statistics from Singapore’s trade development agency, International Enterprise Singapore, indicate that imports of security products increased by almost 4 percent in 2008 compared to the previous year. The total market size for security equipment increased by slightly more than 6 percent in 2008, while the overall economy grew at only 1.1 percent.  The market offers potential for new U.S. firms as many Singaporean agents/distributors are eager to represent U.S. companies. They are especially interested in U.S. suppliers of automated security systems, such as advanced CCTV systems, integrated security systems, electronic card access control systems, smart card technology, intruder detection equipment and biometric systems.  Further details on the Safety and Security Equipment market in Singapore and elsewhere in Asia can be found on www.export.gov (click on “Market Research”).

Safety and Security Asia 2009 has the support of the DOC’s staff in both the United States and Singapore.  By supporting this event, the DOC recognizes the capability and exhibition experience of the organizer of the U.S. Pavilion, Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte, Ltd, and the great potential of this market for U.S. industry exports.
