May 04 2009 Denyse C. Selesnick, CEMThe new President of ITI informed me, that Blogs are supposed to be more than once every six months. Now that I've been educated about "twitter" which looks like its every minute, I ask how does anyone get any work done? I've loved being a part of Linked-In. It is amazing the people you hear from and I still don't utilize it properly-but I'm getting there. I did have one "invitation" to join someone's network but his message was a comment on my photo. I think he was confused with Match.com. It's weird out there! It feels like folks in our industry are frozen in time. They aren't saying "no" but they aren't saying, "yes" either. I live in the suburbs of Los Angeles and have noticed that favorite restaurants are empty sometimes and other times packed. It is like everyone is in a "saving " mood and then the pent-up cabin fever hits and one has to go out. There was an interesting white paper on "The future trade show".I haven't finished it all but it does talk about new trends. Will our audience give up on huge horizontal exhibitions and go for geographically desirable niche areas? I don't have the answers but would love to hear your comments. |
